Welcome to "The Feed Shack" a place to find home cooked (cottage goods for now with the possibility of adding the food truck in the future) foods including USDA processed grass fed beef, pork, eggs (when available) home made breads, pies, cupcakes (on occasion and upon request) pastries ect. We typically cook with non gmo unbleached (often but not always organic) We can use real sugar or we do offer a monk fruit alternative as well on many of our items. We are currently buying bulk barley pellets for our animals and realized that maybe we can offer some of those to our neighbors that may not have a truck and trailer or space to store the giant bags. We recycle and sew our own little 20 lb feed sacks so that we can offer a more manageable size. We are hoping to add to this "idea" as time goes by. We are starting this new (to the community) venture because we feel like there is such a need for quality foods that we know where they came from. At this time where we maybe can't get everything absolutely perfect, we can at least begin to share some of the simple goodness God has blessed us with. We are hoping to run this mostly on the honor system as we feel that will likely be the best match for everyone's busy schedules. Having said that, please text or email before coming so that we can make sure we have what you need before you arrive. 406-320-0694
Non GMO Barley pellets in 20 lb increments. Bring your own 3 gallon bucket (20 lbs per 3 gallon bucket) for $1 discount! This makes great affordable Livestock feed. $6.50 Plus $1 bag deposit. If you bring your own bag or bucket, it is $6.50. Please be sure to empty our bucket into your bucket and leave our backet inside the feed shed.
Save some money by bringing your own bag or bucket. A 3 gallon bucket is right at that 20 lbs. slightly more if topped off so instead of weighing every bucket, we use the 3 gallon bucket as our measuring cup to scoop up your bluegrass pellets from our bulk shipment. Non GMO Bluegrass (pelleted hay) is another great livestock feed.
$6.50

We can make some specialty items like we make them here for our family or we can make them the traditional way using sugar. Our family has moved away from sugar and uses primarily stevia and monk fruit in our personal baked goods.
We have been using our own grass fed beef to feed our family for many years now.
We are happy to announce that we plan to offer USDA processed grass fed beef to our friends and neighbors!
We have been milking our own cows off and on to feed our family for many years now.
We are happy to announce that we plan to offer raw milk as livestock feed (pigs, chickens ect) to our friends and neighbors in the future. We are not sure if we will seek USDA certification on this venture or not but until that time, we will likely offer the leftovers from our raw milk to the public to use for your own animal feed supplement.
Going on the carnivore diet? We have our own home grown, grass fed , non vaccinated, USDA processed grass fed bull burger in stock. (1/3/25)
We are likely going to have some steer meat at some point but after trying beef from about 3 other farmers and ranchers this past year (2024) we are going to continue doing what we have always done. We eat bull meat. We always have. Our boys and girls were all raised on it. The flavor is not stronger or "off" compared to what we tried recently in 2024. We recently discovered the health benefits of eating bull meat. Such as the higher levels of testosterone. Both men and women do need testosterone and I think people would be hard pressed trying to argue that we are lacking in it in todays societies! lol
$9.95 per lb
We are hoping to have USDA processed, non vaccinated, no growth hormones, pork available in very limited quantities late December 2024. We use our barley pellets as our primary livestock feed for our pigs. UPDATE: (1/3/25) We do have pork available but in limited quantities.
Price is higher than we expected.
We may try to offer pork on shares in the future if you are up to doing your own processing?
At this time, pre packaged pork is $7 per lb.
Farm fresh eggs anyone? We will be offering eggs at the feed shack when available. Our chickens are a mix between some of my favorite breeds along with some that I ended up getting years ago and were NOT what they were labeled as. We are working towards our own heavy egg layers with an emphasis on "heavy" and colorful eggs. *** (Update 1/3/25) We have about 2-3 doz eggs per week now. All birds are being fed Non GMO feed. $4 per doz. Extra cartons are always appreciated if you happen to have some. ;)*** Send me a message to get on our list!
We are able to hatch out chicks from our own flock most of the year as long as our hens are laying. We will offer chicks on a limited basis in the spring and summer. Please be sure to reach out in advance if you would like more than just a couple of straight run chicks.
We will be adding the rooster in with the girls soon 1/3/25 $3.50 each chick
We could also offer fertilized eggs I suppose if you wanted to incubate?
This is our home made , non gmo, often organic, non bleached, (flour) bread. We will be offering this as well as possibly sour dough in the near future! We have many baked goods in mind as well but we are getting off to a slow start. ;) Regular home made bread 1 loaf $5 Or you may substitute Bread rolls if you order ahead.
